My Story
Santhy Thangiah is an experienced legal practitioner with a distinguished career spanning the judiciary, public service, and legal practice. She commenced her professional journey in 2001 as a school teacher at SRJK(T) Batu Caves, before entering the judicial service in 2004 as a Court Interpreter at the Tribunal for Homebuyer Claims. She subsequently served at the Palace of Justice, the Selayang Courts, and later at the Industrial Court, where she gained extensive exposure to labour and industrial relations matters.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (2005) and later pursued her legal qualifications, culminating in her admission to the Malaysian Bar in 2023. She has also obtained a Diploma in International Arbitration and successfully completed her Master of Laws (LL.M) at the University of Malaya.
With substantial hands-on experience in industrial and employment-related disputes, her primary area of practice focuses on employment and labour law, including contentious and non-contentious matters before the Industrial Court and related forums. Her background within the judicial system provides her with in-depth practical insight into court procedures, dispute resolution, and industrial relations.
In addition to legal practice, she has authored and published legal articles and regularly contributes to discussions on employment and industrial law. Her dedication and service excellence were formally recognised when she was awarded the Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (Excellent Service Award) on two occasions for her outstanding performance and contributions to Malaysia’s legal and judicial service.
